Make it MINNIE!

ACS_2137

I knew the second I saw a photo of Minnie Mouse in her 90th birthday outfit, that I wanted that look for my Dapper Day outfit! A big tulle skirt with tons of pom poms…. how FUN is that?!? Thankfully it was super easy too, and here is exactly how I made it-

WHAT YOU NEED:

WHAT TO DO:

You’ll want a big clear work space for this, because this skirt is BIG.

Move the top layer of tulle away and work on  the second layer, this way you’ll have the poms under one layer of tulle and won’t be pulling off any poms while you wear it and this will give your skirt the same look as Minnie’s. Then place a sheet of parchment paper under your second layer of tulle. The parchment paper will allow you to glue the pom poms to the tulle without glueing anything to your table. Working in small areas at a time (or as big as your sheet of paper) glue each pom to your skirt with a little bit of hot glue. Allow the glue to dry before taking it off the parchment paper and moving to a new spot. Don’t worry, the glue dries really fast! Moving all around skirt and making sure you cover the entire second layer of your skirt in different sizes, colors and mixing up the tinsel with the regular for the extra sparkle! Soon enough it will be fully covered and you’ll be ready for your MINNIE MOMENT !!!

I completed my outfit with a white crop top from AA and comfortable park shoes, but had to match Minnie’s yellow so I went with yellow vans and of course my 90’th celebration House Of Mouse Ears in white!!

Lastly for an extra DIY, a really quick and easy MICKEY SKIRT!

I used the same skirt from Amazon ( linked here ) in red and simply sewed two white buttons on the front to match Mickey Mouse’s shorts!

Hope you have FUN crafting these!!!!! And if you do make either of these, I would love to see your creations – send me pics or tag me!

xo, Jess!
